French 10&11 Class..

As I learn French, I also learn how to apply it in conversations and oral communications with the help of my classmates. We are learning as the same time enjoying the activities that our teacher asked us to do. I certainly enjoy working with them. It's easier for me to learn the lessons as we do activities and project together because there is a learning integration through oral application of the topics. As we get to know each other our bonding moments in French 10&11 would always be treasured.

Enjoying the French Language..

As I continue to learn the French, I found out several things about the language. I can say that French  have lots of differences from the Filipino and English language. There is a feminine and masculine word classification, the use of conjugations are also different and the pronunciation is quite difficult. But as the days go by I'm enjoying every lessons that we are taking up. I'm loving the language. I think it's because of the unique way of saying the words and how the sentences are constructed. I can say that it's still the right choice for a foreign language for me.

French, My Choice, My Foreign Language..

Back when I was deciding what foreign language to take, I asked my friends and classmates what language is enjoyable to learn. Then they suggested Spanish, German and French. Well,as I was making my decision I considered certain things. Then I realized I don't want to take Spanish because it is the usual foreign language that most students are taking, it is said to be the "universal foreign language" in UP. German language is also kind a dreary to me. So I decided to take French because it is interesting and it's a romantic language. I certainly would want to learn the French accent too. And it is my dream to go to Paris and be able to stand right in front of Eiffel Tower. I also heard a lot of stories from students that they enjoyed learning the French language. I became more excited as they shared their experiences to me. So that's how I got interested in French and decided to take it as my foreign language.

Motivation Style

Motivation is the force that draws you to move toward something. It can come from a desire or a curiosity within you or can be from an external force urging you on. In either case, you make the decision to seize or to skip a chance to learn. Motivation styles vary for different situations and topics but nonetheless, you draw on them all the time, especially when you try to learn something challenging. If you can recognize your predominant motivational style you can identify the situations that best satisfy your needs. Likewise, you can't motivate anyone else. All you can do is invite them to learn.

My Motivation Style is Goal- Oriented

When I answered the questionnaire, I found out that I have a goal- oriented motivation style. My answers include: I am proud when I get things done, I mostly think about what's next, to relax I tend to rely on a consistently relaxing activity, I like to do things right away or on schedule, when online I like to search for specific information, projects should be finished on time, in school, i like to ask questions, I believe schedules keep me organized, I liked to be recognized for being organized, neat, and on time, in terms of completing things I finish what I start.

The result shows that I would probably reach my goals through a direct and obvious route. Now that I learned my motivation style, I will improve my skills to learn more in French language. As a goal-oriented person I will see to it that my goal to study and deeply learn the French language would be achieved. I will make schedules for my study habits, I will  make assignments on time and be able to finish it, I will pass requirements ahead of time, I will organize the topics to be studied to be able to grasp the lessons well and I will enjoy the learning process as I study French.

Reflection on Learning Style

Learning styles refer to the ways you prefer to approach new information. Each of us learns and processes information in our own special ways, though we share some learning patterns, preferences, and approaches.

My Primary Learning Style is Visual.

When I answered questionnaire to assess my preferred learning style. I found out that I have a visual learning style. I answered it with description that applies to me. My answers include: When I visualize I see vivid, detailed pictures in my thoughts. When I relax I watch TV, see a play, visit an exhibit, or go to a movie. When I spell, I envision the word in my mind or imagine what the word looks like when written. When I do something new, I seek out demonstrations, pictures, or diagrams. When I assemble an object, I look at the picture first and then, maybe, read the directions. And when I interpret someone's mood, I examine  facial expressions.

Now that I know my learning style, I will improve my skills to facilitate my French language learning. I will be attentive to the visual illustrations in the Alterego French Lessons and be able to learn more. I will visualize vividly the detailed pictures in my thought and be able to organize it. As I read the lessons, I will associate the familiar terms  to what I learned before and look for the unknown terms in the dictionary. I hope I can improve my learning style as I continue to study French 10&11.
